Any individual or organization with a genuine interest in European mycology may apply to join the EMA as a Member or Associate. If you are interested in joining, please read further.

Categories and fees of Members and Associates

Lower income countries: Members and Associates from countries classified by the World Bank as low-income, lower-middle-income, or higher-middle-income economies - for Europe, this means Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine.

Higher income countries: Members and Associates from all other countries.

limited to those participating in the XIV Congress of European Mycologists when the EMA was established, in all other respects the same as Ordinary Members

Membership renewal and application for membership

Membership subscriptions deadline:

Fees are due on 1 January each year from all Members and Associates, except Honorary Members and Life Members. The Treasurer will endeavour to send individual reminders to all members including any arrears.


Instructions for membership application:

  1. Have two letters of recommendation by members of the EMA ready to be sent along with the application form.

  2. Proceed to the Membership Application Form, fill out your information and submit it.

  3. Send the letters of recommendation to the e-mail address that is provided after submission of the application form.

Your submission will be processed by the Membership Secretary


How to pay:

Please note: in the payment procedure there is the option to send a message to the Treasurer; please use that option to provide the name of the person or association for whom membership is being paid (for example: "2016 Ordinary Members fee for X").
